A1043 was founded by artist Didier Courbot and landscape designer Stéphanie Courbot. The gallery has been open since September 2016. Initially specializing in 20th-century lighting, after a year of existence the gallery decided to focus on monographic and thematic projects and commissions from contemporary designers. We prioritize the quality of the design and manufacture of objects without regard to the period but with a strong tendency to select objects with conceptual and/or sculptural qualities. A1043 sounds like a highway name, an airplane name, or simply a code for a manufactured product, a secret file. We love all these references, all these universes that are so many sources of inspiration.
